We really hope his back is improving).Maybe this next meeting they will be installed… Paul Cook, Senior High School Guests…(from Griggsville-Perry): Amanda Smith, daughter of Doug and Sheila. She is in Basket ball, softball,
volleyball, SADD, National Honor society, President of the Student Council, and
in her church youth group.
She plans on attending Katlyn Hull, daughter of William and Kelli. She is in Volleyball , Softball, National Honor Society, , plays on a traveling softball team touring the middle west during the summer, baby sits, and plans on attending Culver Stockton, majoring in Nursing. ROTARY CHRISTMAS PARTY will be December 12…..bring a gift off of one of the ‘Angel trees’ for a needy child….(or more, if you are so inclined)…..Sign-up at this Wednesday’s meeting…(so far…only 8 have signed up…) Walter Lamb…..intrepid Rotary Foundation Watch Dog….was generous in granting immunity to those NOT having their Rotary pins and badges displayed at our meeting, today….He did not fine anyone, although 7 deserved the honor of contributing a dollar… WEAR YOUR Rotary Pin and Badge!!!! Program: Connie Schroeder introduced Dr .A. D. Sherrick, (and his daughter Ann). Dr. Sherrick interprets the results of the Multi-collector CT Scanner….(MDCT for short). This new machine, which cost over 1 Million Dollars, is at Illini and is
one of the best in the This machine is 3 times faster making 64 rows…goes 380 degrees in 1/3 of a second., allows decreased motion on images, makes much thinner slices than previous machines. The MDCT can do excellent cardiac images, gives a better view of what’s going on than angiograms…. Can accurately diagnose heart problems Can assess all the major surgical causes of abdominal pain. Can show skeletal and muscular abnormalities in trauma patients. Can detect smaller cancers than before. Can also do vascular imaging anywhere in the body…even in the kidneys. Excellent program, very informative and in a format we could
understand……We’re lucky to have such a machine and interpreter in |
