PITTSFIELD ROTARY CLUB   District 6460   2-14-07

Guests:  Allie Little with Dad, Chris, and Mike Boren, with wife Julie….. both guests were out of school due to weather…..

Make-up….Walter Lamb had one last week, via Internet… (NOT on his usual napkin), thanks to Chuck Barber’s help in walking him through the process….which isn’t that hard Wally….

Jan Bleich reminded us of the Heart Healthy event at the Assembly of God church..  Reservations for the box lunch need to call 285-4407.

Shirley Johnston reminded us that the Rotary ‘Reality Store’ for high school freshmen will be March 8, and sent around a sign-up sheet.  This event is very ‘eye-opening’ to the participating students.  You’ll have a couple of more chances to help out by signing up…..

I’ve found it is a very interesting experience to participate, and know you will too….if you enjoy assisting young people to recognize the problems they may encounter when they graduate and get into the work force….

Farmer’s Noon Meeting with speaker Dr. Bob Thompson, Co-Chair of the International Trade Council on Tuesday, February 27 at noon at Orr Hall in the UMC, Pittsfield, needs to have everyone to bring at least one 0guest.  This is one of our annual Rotary events to recognize our farmer friends, who do so much to bolster this community. Let’s get our guests and make reservations by this week’s meeting…..

Program:  President Ann Revis introduce two of our newer Rotarians, Dr. Paul Lyell and Dr. Cole Bradburn, both are Chiropractic Doctors with the Midwest Chiropractic Clinic.

Selecting a very willing subject, (Chris Little), Paul and Cole proceeded to demonstrate a new Chiropractic implement, the ‘Insight Millennium Second Generation Subluxation Station’….a state of the art technology that will help a Chiropractor objectively detects areas of nerve disturbance and assist them in delivering appropriate Chiropractic care.

The machine measures problems in the spine, where an abnormal position/movement of the vertebrae disturbs communication within the central nervous system, causing a disturbance in the body.

This machine measures electrical current in the muscles and gives a ‘Surface  Electronmyography’…. (SEMG Scan)…which measures how much electrical current is moving, or found, in the muscles.   It then gives a print-out of the findings, which the Chiropractor then interprets and follows through on making ‘adjustments’.

The machine gave a good picture of Chris’s muscular functioning…He looked ‘normal’

Paul said that the object is to get you 'in and out'  as quickly as possible, and have you feeling well when you leave.

The machine looked interesting, and when our fellow Rotarians offered to give others a test, I took advantage of it.

Knowing where my back hurt, I was amazed how accurately the detection of the sore spots I had were indicated by the print out.

Well… that called for a ‘follow-up’…( in my mind)… so I made a appointment with Cole.  He made  major adjustments, and it helped alleviate some of the problems that have occurred.  Will see him again, soon, to eliminate the rest….

Informative and effective program.. Try their machine out…it was accurate for me, and helped….
