PITTSFIELD ROTARY CLUB  District 6460  2-7-07

Important:   Our Rotarians have been talking, interrupting our President and occasionally our speakers with ‘private’ conversations that cause others to be unable to hear and indicates someone is not paying attention to the speaker.  More than one of our members has asked that we remind all.

PLEASE--- conduct your conversations, and yourself, with respect to others.

Thank You!!!

Happy Birthday was sung to David and Wally…. Their years totaled: 129 years, so figure out their ages…..they total 52 years of being in Rotary…..

Program:  Roberta introduced Marsha Garrison, Executive Director of the Twin Pike YMCA, Louisiana, MO,

Martha explained the history and efforts that went into establishing the YMCA, which serves both Pike County, Missouri and Pike County, Illinois which became a reality in 2001.

The YMCA is being used by both counties, and is planning on a large scale expansion program that will eventually have not only very excellent facilities for health activities, but also a indoor pool.

Probable cost will be several million dollars, but it will be well worth it to have a fully functional YMCA available for this area.

Funding for the YMCA comes only from local area.  National YMCA only gives direction to the process.

Johnson Stilwell was operated on at 4 today to replace his new hip.. Doing OK, as Gwen reported.  Chuck Barber was too lazy to shovel his snow, but reports he is doing better and recovering from his operation.. (but not coming to Rotary yet…making up on the internet napkin…..)
