Dan Borrowman passed out the materials, fact sheets, lists of teams for Rotary Radio Day….There are some changes, so READ your instructions… AD ONLY…no ‘mentions’.  Change in size of ads…YOU should write them, so they will fit in the time slots allotted…..(with the help of the advertisers, of course)….4 lines long…..!!!

PLEASE collect the money up front when you sell ads….save our poor, overworked, stressed out, worn out, almost desperate for help, Treasurer….(Roberta), time and trouble

IF a ad must be charged, GET PROPER ADDRESS (this has been a problem in the past)….   ROTARY Radio Day is May 19……

IMPORTANT:  Turn in you money as soon as possible…don’t hold on to it….it makes it easier for our Treasurer…..(see above)

President Ann announced open program dates are:  May 23, June 6, 13 and 20……Please fill them.

Program:  Helen Wright was introduced and presented a program on Rotary History.

She covered much of how Rotary was started, who belonged in the beginning, how Rotary actually started the drive for a hospital, the many fund raising evens, which included the white elephant sales, the Rotary Bull, the highly successful travelogues (BT….before television)providing purebred gilts to 4-Hers, providing g rides for rural football players, passing on the District Rotary Goat, and many other historical items.

We started having student guests in 1946…

The Rotary History only goes until 1999.  Needs to be updated…suggests a committee be formed to get it accomplished....
