District Annual meeting in Springfield on October 6 & 7. Registration forms are available from our President, Anna Revis, or in the District 6460 news letter that was passed out at this meeting.

District meetings are fun to attend and meet both old, and new, friends.

Program: Jan Bleich introduced Jan Smith RN, Home Health Supervisor for the Pike County Health Department.

Jan told us all about the local Home Health regulations and what they can do for patients.

There are RN’s, Home Health Aids, A Registered Dietician, and Physical Therapists available to help with home reconveys, or care.

Patient must be unable to leave home... (be truly homebound).

Services are paid for by Medicare, Insurance, V.A., workman’s compensation and by private pay.

Patients are referred from Doctors, Hospitals, and family members.

Home Support from private pay mostly covers blood draws, home-makers for housekeeping, bathing, pre-fill medication boxes, nail trimming.

Homemakers charge $15.00 per hour.... $10.00 per week for medication handling....

5 RN’s are employed for Home Health work.

They do a lot more in the home than when Pike County Health Department was started in 1966.

Shirley Johnston brought up there is a request for nomination for an award to a person who best exemplifies the Rotary 4-Way Test.
