PITTSFIELD ROTARY CLUB   District 6460     December 12 & 13, 2006

Rotary Christmas party was held at the Crossroads, with a delicious dinner, Santa Claus present, and a new twist, with the children giving gifts to Santa for other children’s Christmas… It was a joint effort with the Unit 10 Student Council, and were the young ladies surprised at the many gifts provided at our Rotary Function, when they came to pick them up….

Congratulations to Becky McCartney for getting more involvement in the REAL spirit of Christmas.

We were entertained by the Saukee Swing Choir, who performed many excellent vocal numbers, under the direction n of Joan Felpauch, (who appeared in her Esmeralda Marcos blouse….. covered with shoes…. If you haven’t seen it)…

It was an excellent evening…

Regular Rotary meeting on the 13^th...

Guest:  Dr. Frank Escobar, who is with Illini Hospital.

Hamer Tate reported that the Crossroads Center will have a ‘Winter Ball’ on January 13, with a ‘live band’, playing danceable music…..20’s—30’s---40’s----50’s---60’s….etc.

HE has tickets…only $9.00 for singles, $18.00 for a couple…you can call, after you’ve asked your ‘significant other’….HE’S in the phone book……

Election of Rotary Board Members…..

We had 4 candidates:  Jan Bleich, Dan Borrowman, Linda Bradshaw and Max Middendorf.

Dan and Max were elected in a very tight race…..

Program:  Walter Lamb presented a program on Rotary Foundation

(Once again, we had only about 2/3rds attendance…..HOW…do all those Rotarians seem to know when WALTER is in charge of the program???????)

The video Walter brought had been seen by many of us before, but was still a good refresher on what Rotary Foundation does accomplish….

‘Where others have problems…Rotary has opportunity…..!

Just remember:  ‘The money contributed to the Rotary Foundation leaves a legacy of good in the world….’
