Make-ups:  Eric and Roberta Dolbeare at Rotary E-Club of Southeast USA.

 

Reality Day will be March 13….plan to participate!!

Shirley Johnston reported an informational meeting on RoterAct at the guidance office on February 7th….(what time????).

 

Ron Short reported that they are preparing a ‘cultural briefing’ for participants here before the GSE team arrives .  It will be next Thursday.  They will be here April 22-24.

 

Student Guests:  Jenna Lyn Lumis, daughter of Brad and Cheri.  Doing dual-education with Pleasant Hill HS and JWCC .  Yearbook staff, Resource management, Math Club, FACS, Blue Crew, FFA, Chorus, 8 year member County Line Clovers 4-H, Junior Church leader at PH Christian Church,.  4 years playing volleyball, softball and track.

Cooks, bakes lifeguards at PH pool.  Plans to attend Eastern Illinois University in English and Elementary physical education… eventually teach.

Christina Hannel, daughter of Don and Lisa.  Class officer, Student Council, FACS, Blue Crew, NHS, plays basketball, volleyball and track, in FFA, and lifeguards at PH Pool.

Plans on studying Nursing at JWCC.

 

Program:  Carole Bradshaw introduced John Morris, candidate for the Congressional seat in the 18th District of Illinois.

John is Vice President of WPTV and a Rotarian..  He reminded us that this is the lst time in 52 years that there is a wide open election in this area.  Bob Michaels served 38 years and Ray LaHood for 22….John said, ‘there are 3 excellent candidates ….one exceptionally good….ME ……. I’m privileged, win, or lose, to have the opportunity to run. ‘

He’s the only candidate born and raised in Illinois, in Peoria and graduated from George Washington University, interned under Bob Michael in Washington, is married, has 2 children.  Worked n private fund raising, was elected to the Peoria City Council at large, served as Mayor-pro-tem, and aided in growing the city through private investments.

Washington needs to understand the hopes and dreams of the people.

Government is not the solution….  it is the problem.  Need to abolish the ‘death tax’.

National Security is our highest priority.  Secure our borders.  Keep the Constitution the way it is. 

Don’t forget to VOTE on Tuesday!!!!!......
