Roberta reported that over 7,000 pounds of deer meat have already been processed, with another big weekend before us… This is MORE than was processed all of last year. Our Rotary Club has given $750.00 to assist with the processing costs.
The food pantries expects to have all of it distributed by the end of the year.
Thanks to David Fuhler and WBBAS, also Barry Firemen and Chris Little, sufficient freezer space has been found to accommodate all the frozen meet (for now)… They would still accept workable, free freezers….to help hold extra meat that might be achieved during the rest of the deer season.
The hunters have been very generous in donating the deer that they have harvested.
Program: Randy introduced Michelle Westmas, who spoke on the current project of providing a skate board park for county skaters….which is being promoted by the Pike County Skaters’ organization.
She gave a very informative presentation on how, why and what it takes to get this project up and running.
