New Member:  Dr. Jake Brown was inducted today, with Chuck ( C. A. lll )Barber giving a brief history of Rotary and Dr. Mark Meleski doing the ‘pinning’.

Jake is with the Midwest Chiropractic Clinic. Is married to Jessica, and has two children.

Eldon Atwood continues to send in make-ups…..where are YOURS……

 

Max Middendorf  says we need more to sign up for programs….(El Presidente is threatening line dancing on missing program dates……) Check with Max and let’s get our calendar year of programs filled out…

 

Shirley Johnston requested a committee for Reality Day….Helen, Violet and Gaylord volunteered and met.

 

Literacy program needed ideas, and met to go over ideas given at this meeting… More on it next week.

 

High School students from Pleasant Hill:

T. Orinda Tobias, daughter of Gary and Becky Beer and Kent Tobias.  On Prom Committee, Home-coming, FFA, Student Council, Quiz Bowl, Band, Chorus, Jr.Class President, and church choir.  Cleans home and helps with livestock.  Works 30-40 hours a week at Barry Community Care Center as a CNA… which she became trained in through JWCC.  She plans on going to JWCC in Accounting and Business and  transfer to Augustana College at Rock Island.

 

Nicole McDonald, daughter of James and Julie. In Prom, Home-coming, Yearbook staff, Band, Chorus, works 30 hours a week at Starks Nursery Call Center, swims and boats. Plans on attending JWCC in Business and Office Technology.

 

Program Chair, Shirley Johnston introduced Joy Barker and Cindy Colver from the West Central Agency on Aging…

Joy is the  director of Pike County Senior Services, which is located in the south part of the Christian Church.  This provides Sr. meal site, circ uit breaker assistance, helps get medicare prescriptions paid for, discounts on license plates and Sr.employment when necessary. 

They assist with Homemaker and caregiver programs, elder abuse intervention, income tax assistance, offers transportation assistance,

The meal site is open for lunch 5 days a week.

Cindy assits with Meals on Wheels.  Need people to volunteer to deliver the food .  Have 18 meals delivered in Pittsfield.  This helps keep people in their own homes…
