Subject: ROTARY MEETING 2-6-08
Harry,
In case you would like to disseminate to the club what went on at the meeting this week i offer the following:
Guest was Jacob Brown with Mark Meleski, his proposor. Hopefully we will be inducting Dr. Jake next week.
Birthday singing was led by one of our accomplished and beneficent Rotarians. Thanks for the good job. The honorees were Walter Lyle Lamb and one high school senior, Morgan Callender.
Tracy Childers, daughter of Tammy Harshman, of Pittsfield high school was our guest. She wants to attend JWCC and begin her studies as a future architect. She was on the wrestling team!
Morgan Callender was also our guest from PHS. She has been involved in softball with Tracy for ten years but she also participated in the swing choir and many other things. She plans to attend Lindenwood in St. Charles, MO.
Our program was former Rotarian Kathy Hull who represented habitat for humanity. She said it is so sad but they have found people in great need who are so poor they cannot qualify for a new home. The group has had lots for building offered to them so that should not be a problem but they need to have a lot in the area where a qualified candidate lives.
Kathy said if a house is given to a family and for some reason is later sold then the proceeds are to be returned to the habitat for humanity. President Randy reiterated the willingness of rotary to help with “hands on” assistance when the time comes Randy reminded all to please be at PHS on Thursday afternoon to show our support of a new interact club which is being formed. Shirley Johnston is working diligently to see this happens.
