You received information on the Cardinals vs Cubs … Let’s send a bunch to witness another Cub defeat…….

Birthdays:  David Fuhler and ‘Old” Walter Lamb. (Let Chuck know when your birthday is (members since 2000…) we can honor you better if we don’t have to spend time asking ‘who’s got a birthday this month’ all the time.)

Walter and Eldon also had make-ups….via computer..

Program:  Carolyn Casteel introduced Jane Ann Petty. She said many years ago, the Petty’s ran the former Jack and Jill Shop.  Janeann and Jonas Petty purchased it from the former owners and converted it into a business off ice and a place to live.

JaneAnn  said Jonas came home on nite and said he had purchased the old hotel building.

William Watson, the first settler of Pittsfield, built the original hotel in 1838…it was originally called the ‘Mansion House’.

They have found out that Lincoln was a guest in the Hotel.

Jane Ann gave an excellent slide show of the progress in restoration and what is available.  Let people know about the availability of more places to stay in Pike County….it’s neat, clean, affordable… and you Can call 217-285-6030 for reservations.
