Walter Lamb and Chuck Barber ‘made-up’ at Louisiana< MO, where there was no meeting, because they were having an evening get-together….so, apparently they wrote the visit out on the proverbial napkin once more….anyhow, they tried….give them credit…
Carole Bradshaw reported a total of $7,205.00 in ads were sold for Rotary Radio Day….
The club was congratulated for a job well done, both in being on the air and selling ads….
President-in-training, Jan Bleich again did an excellent job of filling in for President Debbie, who was again in court on the job. (Jan should have enough training filling in for Debbie from this year to do a superb job starting in July)……
Program: Kent Wasson introduced Jack Hull, President of the Pike County Little League.
Jack first, congratulated Julie Boren on getting one kid married.
He then stated that Little League was started by three men with foresight, 52 years ago…Johnson Stilwell, Jean T Casteel and Ab Ransom. (Two were Rotarians).
There are now 22 teams in
Little League gives children a chance to play further even going on to All-State. They are now using machine pitch to the little kids, as ‘coach pitch’ was too varied,
Little League is played on Tuesday and Thursday nights, with Tuesday and Fridays for the little kids.
Over 200 children are currently involved, having fun and training.
