PITTSWFIELD ROTARY CLUB       12-3-08

            The beautiful, vivacious La Presidenta, Debbie Dugan, returned with a lot of information. She’ll be gone next week.

            1.  We will not have a Christmas Party this year.  The Rotarians who originally   charge of planning have left the

                 club and most of them the area.

2.      We WILL participate in the giving tree at Pittsfield High School, Debbie had brought about 30 of the gift tags from

The tree and was a little short after our Rotarian picked them up, so she told them to contact the school for some.

The clothes are to be un-wrapped and brought to this week’s meeting. .

                  The student council representatives will pick them up and see that they get to the proper persons…

                 REMEMBER TO RETURN YOUR TAG WITH THE GIFT!!!!

            Brenda Middendorf had sent word that approximately 10,000 pounds of processed deer meat for the two Food Pantries            in Pike County had been acquired thus far.  She gave a BIG Thanks to  Rotary for their help…..and support.

Roberta reported that Eric was doing fine, and had a concern about starting a project and not being there to see it to a

conclusion..  

He reported that Iraq refugees, returning from other countries, are staying half-ruined buildings, and have insufficient

Supplies for the winter there, such as coats, blankets, etc.  Perhaps we can start getting some things together to assist

Type of supply being gotten to them.

Student Guests from Unit 10 High School:

Amy Stewart, daughter of Mark  and Julie.  She is on the Student Council, in National Honor Society, Chair  of the Toy

And clothing drive, worked at the Dairy Ripple this summer, went to Haiti on a mission, and wants to be a ASN.

Megan Syrcle, daughter of Scott and Cheryl.  She is the only girl out of 7 children.  She is in SADD, Art Club,

Spanish Club, National Honor Society, plays the violin, is a CNA at Illini Hospital, and plans to attend John  Wood..

We celebrated  December birthdays with Randy, Dan Mefford, Linda, Shirley, Bobette, and our Christmas baby, Violet!!
