Rotary District Assembly will be April 4 at the Crown Plaza, Springfield, IL

Program:  Chris Little introduced Scott Hill, President of the Pike County Historical Society.

Scott told us that the Historic East School is getting some much needed repair, thanks to a $100,000 grant  through Senator Deanna Demuzio.

He said that this area is full of history and something needs to be done to save the papers at the Pike County Court House that are deteriorating, and also being stolen…..We have here the oldest historical documents in the state…..

Pittsfield currently has one more house where Lincoln stayed than Springfield….the most in Illinois, or the World….

Eldon had 2 make-ups…one by email…

Maybe some of our members could also use the email to make up…it is very informative….

Eric Dolbeare, our member in Iraq made it home for Christmas and this meeting…

What a wonderful experience for all of us…..

Eric said he is one of 20 ag advisers stationed in the particular area… On base about ½ time, gets to see a lot of the countryside….Gathering information so he can inform officials about what can be done to improve agriculture in the area…

Dr Jake Brown will be going back to Michigan…glad to have had him while we have…Good Luck up in the cold, snow and ice country Jake…..
