Western Student: DJ Duncan, plays basketball, Honor Society, wants to attend JWCC, then transfer to bet a bachelor’s degree somewhere..
Program: Roberta Dolbeare introduced Marsha Garrison, Executive Director of the Twin Pike YMCA .
Marsha presented a showing of the plans for improving the facility, which looked great. She also explained the entire existing facility and plans for the future. Excellent power-point.
Currently they have over 580+ members. Pretty good for a small community.
Personal Observation: WHY aren’t we giving our guests, especially the students, a small card with the ROTARY 4=WAY TEST on it….as a memento of their visit here….????

Student Guests: Makayla Whitaker, daughter of Randy and Shaunce, wants to attend Hannibal LaGrange in Nursing. She is into softball, cross-country, SADD, and TEAM Safe Driving.
Kewlsy Sharrow, daughter of Steve and Vera. Plans on going to JWCC, transfer to a 4 year, in eduction. She is Year Book editor, SC Vice President, in SADD, Drama Club.
May 29-30, District Meeting at Macomb. 2 new Paul Harris Fellows will be announced.

Illini/Blessing Hospital Golf outing at Old Orchard is June 5. Profits go to the Cardiac Rehab Program.
Rotary Received a $3500.00 check from Patty MacIntosh from the fund that was a special project of our former Rotarian John Teuscher, for the Drug and Alcohol program.
Chris Little said the 3rd Annual Fire Fighter Extravaganzawill be June 6. Tickets are $10.00. Need to support the volunteers who protect our property in case of fire... See Chris...
Program: Harry introduced Kaye Iftner, Executive Director of the Pike County Chamberof Commerce.
Kaye reported the developing of a mission statement for the Chamber....to advocte for the improvement of the qualityof life in Pike County. The Chamber is trying to be more active in attracting more businesses to locate here.
She is putting together a 're-location packet' for people moving here.
The Chamber is growing and now has 210 members...and would welcomindividuals, as well as businesses that currwntly don't belong.
Several Rotarians are on the Chamber Board, or are 'Ambassadors'.
Kaye did an excellent job, putting her program together in less than 1/2 hour notice.
