Need help Thursday at Radio Station at 9:00 am… to put the ads together for Saturday and Sunday…..

 

Prez Debbie reminded us that the District Conference is May 29/30 at Macomb.

Clubs are asked to bring a basket of local materials to auction n off to help defray expenses.  Connie volunteered to put one together.

Suzanne Ellerbrock at Quincy has a Rotary Exchange student from Taiwan, she would like to give a program at our Rotary Club….Debbie has the details….

 

A ‘Thank You” was received from the Illini Oncology Department, Sherrie and Jill, for allowing them to present a program at Rotary. 

 

Connie Schroeder announced that this week is Hospital “Week”…and that they will be cooking out on the Rotary circle on Wednesday…so stop by and get a  appetizer snack before you come to Rotary….

 

The GSE Team will arrive here on Thursday, in a 16 passenger van… Debbie will be driving (Pray for their lives…..)   We will eat with them on Thursday evening at the Red Dome…at 6:00 p.m..

Hosts will be Carole, Dr. Mehl and Violet…..

Carole Bradshaw and family will be hosting family nite with them at the Bradshaw Lodge… at 6:30 p.m. on Friday…. With a CARRY-IN….(Meat furnished  ….i’m betting it will be PORK!!!!)

 

Linda and Connie led us is a rousing rendition of “Take me out to the Ball Game” (in Honor of the BEATING the CARDINALS gave the perennially losing cubs….)……

 

Program:  Jan Bleich introduced Nancy Halpin RN, Communicable Disease Coordinator for the Pike County Health Department.

Nancy talked about the current problem with H1N1, commonly referred to as ‘swine flu’.

She said that the Health Department team of PH Administrator Anita Andress, Robin Wainman, Jan Bleich and herself are working to be surrvalent and keep all facets of the communities in Pike Count y informed of the current situation.  This includes the Hospital, schools, Physicians, Sheriff and Fire Departments, etc.

She assured us that they have a plan in place, the above people informed and there are NO current cases in Pike
