ROTARY CLUB 1-5-2011
President
Dan Borrowman passed around the very excellent article on our Rotary Interact
Club in the Quincy Herald Wig. It was very comprehensive, and featured the many
things the clubm has accomplished.
Diego had a
goot Christmas vacation here. Saw his first snow and went snowboarding.
Rotary
International Convention is in New Orleans....If you are thinking about going,
Dan has the information. This nwill be the last one in the U.S. for about 6
years...
Rotary Board
meeting is scheduled for January 12 at 11 a.m. at th Community Center.
Student
Guest Unit 10:
Austin
Barton, Son of David and Debbie. He is in AMA, National Honor Society,
Basketball, plays guitarand piano. helps on the farm, in 4-H, likes racing
bikes,camping and travel. Plans on attending SIEU in Civil Engineering..(which
brought a burst of applause from MAX...)
Gavin Bogan,
son of Mike and Anita. He is studying Public Relations at John Wood, plays
Basketball, in National Honor Society, Band, helps at Church and home, works at
County Market, plays drums in band and likes Basketball. Plans on going to
Monmouth College in Counceling.
Aron
Borrowman, son of Brady and Wanda. is in NHS, CAD, also taking Joh Wood
courses, in Band, Basketball manager, helps on farm, enjoys hunting, and
"Does what Mom Tells Me to do"...Plans on attending SIUE in
Engineering.
Program:
Charles A. Barber III took over for the missing program, and filled us in on
much of the information that appears in the 100th year Issue of th Rotary
International Magazine ... Read it... and you'll find out a wealth of
information.
Chuck did a
good job of seeing who knew the answers to some of the information that
appeared in the magazine.
We were 4th
in attendance in the District in November...let's try to get to first...it
would only take a few makeups on line from those who have missed a meeting todo
that, and you would learn a lot about other clubs and the programs that they
have. Try it..you'll like it...
