Program:
Josh Filbert introduced Jane Ann Petty, W. M. Watson Hotel Owner.
Jane Ann
said the hotel is doing good business. It apparently is getting a good
reputation since many people want to come back after staying there.
She and her
husband have worked hard re-storing the hotel to a beautiful, useable,
attractive condition. The historical record of the hotel adds to the interest
in it.
It is
believed that Lincoln stayed ther, and since it was build during the time he
practiced law here, is directly across the street from the Pike County Court
House, it is quite possible, but yet to be proven.
You can get
more information from their brochure, going to:
W.M.WatsonHotel.com
on the internet or also on U2
Very excellent
information Jane Ann....and the addition of the W.M.Watson Hotel to the
business community on the square has been a real plus to Pittsfield.
