Randy Hires called the meeting to order.
Minutes
from September’s meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer’s
report was given by Roberta
Roberta
brought up that the Trail Program contacted her and were requesting the payment
we had promised them. None around the table could remember it coming
before the board.

Following the meeting Chuck researched the subject further and found that it
indeed did come before the board on June 1, 2006….Excerpt as follows “Pres.
Elect Ann brought a request from Julie Boren regarding Pike County Trails
project for Pike. There is $20,000 available by grant but must have
support of the community by letters of endorsement. Ann moved we give
$100.00 along with a letter of support. Violet seconded the motion and it
passed”.
Pres.
Randy presented a request from the Chamber of Commerce for book racks.
Connie moved we give $200.00 to the Chamber for their use in such. This
was seconded by

Randy presented the Soy Cow Project to the board. He and Eric Dolbeare had

Randy
said he emailed Mr. Hershey about total costs for the project and hasn’t heard
back yet. Randy will have Phil do a presentation to the club regarding
this.
Randy
asked the board if they thought the club would actively support a “hands on”
project like Habitat for Humanity. Connie will try to get Kathie Hull back
for a program ASAP.

President received this lickity split back from Connie….
I
talked with Kathy Hull. They have had the meeting with potential
families. Applications will come from this group and they hope to have a
family picked by January. The family then has to take a lot of classes to
prepare for their commitment and they hope to have a Spring ’08
groundbreaking. So…our “sweat equity” would be needed in the spring and
summer of 2008.
They
have donated land in Griggsville,
Randy
said he would try to get a hold of Becky McCartney to chair the Christmas
Program again this year. All agreed she did a great job last year and
wanted to keep the same gift format (Giving to needy families instead of gifts
to our own kids.)
